Adopt from PCHS

PCHS strives to match potential adopters with a pet that is best suited to their home, interests, and lifestyle. Our staff makes every effort to work with potential adopters and help them find their perfect match here at our shelter. If for some reason we can't help you find your new companion, we will point you in the direction of other shelters and rescue groups. We are dedicated to placing homeless, adoptable animals with loving, caring families like yours.
Adoption Overview
Research
Before you begin your search, we invite you to think it through. Adopting a pet is a big decision, one that is a life-term commitment. Ask yourself, am I ready for a pet? Is this the right time? Will I be able to care for a dog or cat with the resources I have?
We also encourage you to do your research and find the pet that's right for you. Once you've given some serious thought about what it takes to be a responsible pet owner, take a look at our available animals and visit us during shelter hours to find your new best friend.
Apply
Before you adopt, review our Adoption Application. To adopt, you must come into the shelter and fill out this application with our staff. We strongly recommend that all members of the household, including any other pets you currently own, meet the new pet prior to finalizing adoption.
Adopters must be 18 years of age and possess a valid photo ID.
Adopt
Our adoption fees start at $65, which includes up-to-date shots according to the animal's age. It is our policy to spay and neuter all animals before we relinquish ownership to the adoptive family. However, if this is impossible because of the animal's age or some other reason, we will include a $45 voucher to be used at the veterinarian of your choice, but for spay and neuter expenses only.
Come to the shelter or a PetSmart adoption event to adopt your next best friend!
